Student success at the Seamus Heaney Centre, QUB

Students completing their Master’s in Construction and Project Management came to visit to our Seamus Heaney Centre site.

This project involves the refurbishment of two Grade II listed buildings for our clients Queen’s University Belfast.

We provided a presentation detailing the scale, scope and complexities of this project before welcoming the students on site for a guided tour and Q&A session. The project team, including the Principal Architect, Project Manager, Contracts Manager and Engineer came together to provide a holistic, informative overview for the students.

Paul Griffith (Michael Whitley Architects) gave a fascinating insight to the history of the building, the design and future outlook.

Conor McCallion (Gleeds) shared information about project management, its processes, complexities, and the steps taken to help this project succeed.

Stephen Terris (GEDA) broke down the construction methods used on site, highlighting unique aspects of the listed building and restoration process.

We want to extend our thanks to Tara Brooks (Course Director, QUB) and the Construction and Project Management MSc and BIM Project Management MSc students for joining us on site.
