James’ Court is a Sheltered Living Scheme in North Belfast, consisting of 55 apartments. This project involved a complete internal refurbishment of the scheme while residents remained on site.

While the apartments were under works, residents and their belongings were temporarily decanted to another apartment for a more comfortable wait. Their cooperation was much appreciated, as was their input in choosing the finishes to their homes – residents picked their own kitchen worktops, units and handles, and bathroom finishes – and the outcomes are great!

After 14 phases and a seamless handover, Community Liaison Officer Lorna Brown said

“Team GEDA’s professionalism, quality of work and commitment to this project has been impressive from start to finish. The atmosphere at James’ Court has been positive throughout, and our residents are delighted with the final result.”
