Social Value Round Up

At GEDA, we’re committed to making a positive impact in the communities we work in. Over the past few months, our Social Value Lead and site teams have been busy supporting local organisations, schools, charities, and residents - creating meaningful connections and delivering real social value across our project areas.

Southfield and Newry Project

We supported two STEM sessions at Knighton Library, where primary school pupils built their own ‘robots’. We also donated children’s activity books to the library.
At Goldhill Play Association, we delivered presentations to two classes about renewable energy and how the construction industry is becoming more environmentally conscious. We also donated materials to support their outdoor learning sessions. On another occasion, we delivered presentations about construction careers. We then looked at different building materials, and the children designed buildings that could withstand extreme weather events (raining meatballs).
Our team carried out mock interviews with 13 Year 11 pupils at Sir Jonathan North Community College. It was fantastic to receive such positive feedback and appreciation from the school.

Lyng Hall Project

Our team helped transport children’s uniforms from Coventry Clothing’s warehouse to Queens Road Baptist Church for their annual summer pop-up event. The charity provides free clothing including school uniforms to families and individuals in need.
We volunteered at Coventry City Mission’s Community Fun Day, where our Social Value Lead ran a craft stall to support children’s activities.
We joined a ‘Chat Central’ litter pick organised by Voluntary Action Coventry.
We also donated food and personal hygiene products to the Coventry Central Foodbank team at Queens Road Baptist Church.
Just last week, our social value lead supported EGO Arts – a Coventry based arts organisation – by painting the grotto woodwork ahead of their ‘Father Christmas & Friends’ experience. What a great way to get in the festive spirit!

A young family living near our Peasehill site needed help installing a baby safety gate. Our team gladly stepped in to assist, ensuring the gate was securely fitted for the new residents. Sometimes, it’s the small gestures that have the biggest impact.

These important initiatives are facilitated by our fantastic social value lead and site teams. We couldn’t be prouder of the works carried out!
