Project Summary:

Works required the replacement of existing twin 30-inch diameter watermains within an Area of Special Scientific Interest and bounded by both the River Severn and the River Avon.

Further Information on the project:

The replacement of the mains was required and included 2.65km of new 900mm steel watermains, thrust blocks anchored with 15m piles keyed into the mudstone and macalloy strut/tie arrangements to enable 4 connection interventions, each to be delivered in within separate 24hr windows.  SSSI Assent, regular stakeholder updates and a detailed Flood Evacuation Plan and river level monitoring was all required to safely and accurately deliver the project on programme
