A huge congratulations to Ulster University student Luke Quin, who won the 2024, Kevin Carey Placement Student of the Year Award.

We would also like to congratulate SMB College Group student Logan Shepherd, who won the Kevin Carey Apprentice of the Year Award.

Kevin Carey, a former GEDA colleague and civil engineer, was an outstanding mentor to our students. His extensive knowledge, patience, and encouragement made him an excellent guide, and he found great joy in mentoring students. This award commemorates Kevin and all he brought to GEDA.

This annual award recognises a student’s contribution, dedication, and growth over the past 12 months with GEDA.
Our judge’s decision is always challenging, and this year was no different. The standard was exceptionally high, and we commend all our amazing students for their hard work, commitment, and positive impact during their time with us.
