Construction Commences on Community Pavilion in Stapleford

We are excited to announce that we will be delivering the new Community Pavilion at Hickings Lane Recreation Ground in Stapleford. The project will be delivered on behalf of our client Broxstowe Borough Council, working in partnership with Stapleford Towns Fund and project partners Lungfish Architects & Tunstall Smith King.

We are pleased to be delivering the new Community Pavilion at Hickings Lane Recreation Ground in Stapleford, set to become the Midland’s Steven Gerard Academy.

The project will commence with the demolition of the previous Community Pavilion, with the aim of providing improved facilities for the local community.

We hosted a site sod cutting event to mark the occasion, welcoming along local small businessman Carl from i61 Coffee for everyone to enjoy a hot drink and sweet treat.

Due to open in 2025, it will bring local community groups together under one roof as a central hub for people of all ages to meet, learn, play, dance and keep fit.

The new pavilion will serve as a central hub, bringing together local community groups and offering a space for people of all ages to meet, learn, play, dance, and stay active.

The facility will feature:

– A community café
– Two function rooms
– Two versatile event and learning spaces
– A dedicated community centre area
– Expanded on-site parking and cycle storage
– Two state-of-the-art 3G multi-sports pitches
– A seven-a-side multi-use pitch, with space for two five-a-side grass pitches or one seven-a-side pitch
– Modern changing rooms to support all activities

The pavilion will be a modern, multi-purpose building with a recreation and sports ground, designed to replace some of the town’s outdated community facilities.

The Academy will not only enhance the education, health, and wellbeing of children and young people, but also create job opportunities and establish Stapleford as a centre of excellence for sport.
