Limavady Educational Resource Centre

The works for this project included the construction of a new single storey structure. The new building incorporated a steel frame with concrete pad stones and reinforced concrete ground beams on trench filled foundations. Traditional cavity walls were constructed in concrete brickwork/block work and smooth rendered finish. All new roofs were pitched with metal roof decking.

A key design feature was large south facing glazing elements with wide soffit canopies to minimise solar heat gain. High specification M&E installations included ICT suite, networked data cabling, light/motion sensor lighting and PV Panels. Accommodation provision included classrooms, welfare, canteen, storage and tuition areas and a sensory Room. Externally high-quality hard landscape provided access for maintenance circulation around the building.
