In line with the ongoing growth and expansion of GEDA, a new role has been created within our Business Development Department for a Bid Writer. This fast-paced role will provide the Bid Writer with the exposure of both construction and civil engineering bids and an opportunity to work across both the public and private sectors in the Midlands UK, NI and Ireland. This individual will play a key role within TeamGEDA, using their experience and support from a dedicated team they will deliver the highest standard bids and drive our growth goals.
The Role
- Researching, structuring and scoping the required response.
- Writing high quality, compelling, well-evidenced content for use in bids, presentations and other documentation.
- Manage interaction with internal and external stakeholders throughout the bid process.
- Leading the preparation of the bid, ensuring contributors provide information on time and to the correct standard whilst answering the bids requirements.
- Supporting and prioritising the company’s growth strategy in the identification of opportunities.
- Keeping accurate records and developing the current ‘bid library’ for future use.
- Adherence to bid preparation timelines an including agreed milestones.
- Ensuring content is fully compliant to bid requirements.
- Development of case studies for completed projects.
- Support of marketing team with content creation as and when required.
The person
- Proven track record of winning bids.
- Strong administration and organisation skills
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Writing experience in a technical field
- Able to work to tight timescales.
- Good understanding of construction / civil engineering
- Team and action oriented.
- Able to influence assertively to get results.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the construction / civil engineering field.
