The project included the construction of two retail units for our client Paragon Property Development in Irthlingborough.
There were considerable groundworks on the scheme. The main structure of the building was a structural steel frame with a mix of blockwork internal leaf walls, stone and brickwork exterior wall cladding complete with car-parking and street lighting; a mixture of bitmac roads and brick paving car-parking bays were used. A concrete service yard was constructed for vehicular delivery access to the rear of the retail units.
Due to the location of the site, considerable consideration was given at the design stage where we liaised closely with the local planning department in order to design the scheme in accordance with its surroundings. For this reason, a lot of natural stone was built to the front facades of the building and along the front retaining wall of the car-park with matching paving to footpaths and parking areas. A landscaping proposal was also designed and installed to further enhance the development to its surroundings.
