Handed over 2 weeks early, this modern primary school provides 10no. classrooms, sports/ dining/ multi-purpose hall, kitchen, offices and staff room, with associated outside amenity areas and parking.

To attain the required ground levels on site we formed earth bunds. This retained the soil for future use, reducing the project’s carbon footprint. Also the bund’s enabled the creation of a small nature resrve / eco system for the school.

The external façade was a combination of curtain walling, cladding panels & aluminium windows and doors. Internal layouts were designed to maximise natural daylighting and solar gain, with the building being naturally ventilated throughout with roof lights, opening automatically when required. High specification, sustainable mechanical and electrical installations included grey water recycling, photo-voltaic cells, climate control system and sensored luminares.

Outdoor learning spaces were also created via play areas, sport pitches and landscaped areas.

We agreed phasing at the outset allowing our client flexibility and early sectional handover.

Collaboration and partnership with the client enabled handover well before their first pupil arrived in September.
