On Friday 15th July we hosted all current and incoming placement students at Head Office to present the Kevin Carey award. This was awarded to the student who demonstrated outstanding performance and commitment during their placement year at GEDA. The award was presented to Emma Donaghy by Kevin’s wife Natasha Carey. We are delighted to maintain Kevin’s legacy in our company and honour his memory by awarding an up and coming engineer.
After receiving the award, Emma was asked how she felt and said
“I’m still in shock to be honest, that I actually won the award with the standard of work from the other students. I was honoured to receive the award in memory of Kevin and it proves that my hard work and determination for the year was worth it. I couldn’t have hoped for a better placement year, which will finish on a high with this special award.”
