The works involved the construction of a new household waste recycling centre on the site of an existing facility, enlarging the facility to 5 times it’s original size. The works included construction of a new structural steel framed recycling shed, office, meeting room, weighbridges and skip areas.

Upgrade works were also undertaken on the access road, car parking, site boundary and entrance gates. The site has been extended to include both conventional and compactor skips, storage areas for WEEE and bulky waste, and recycling containers for oils, clothes, mobile phones and bottle banks etc.

Works on site required the treatment and capping of contamination in one area of the site. The new centre has been redesigned to incorporate a wide range of innovative eco-features that will help to conserve natural resources and protect the local environment.
